At the Montreal Jazz Festival!
We’ve had to wait until today to announce that we’re playing at the Montreal Jazz Festival (June 29th 6:00pm) outside on the TD Stage. We’re really excited for the opportunity and are competing for the TD Grand Jazz Award and the Galaxie Rising Star Award.
Hope to see you there or at one of our other tour dates in Alberta (Medicine Hat Jazz Festival), New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, and at the The Rex on June 25 at 6:30, during the Toronto Jazz Festival.
Thanks to the Canada Council for the Arts for their support of this tour.

Jazz Festival Tour
Peripheral Vision is excited to be heading on tour in Alberta and the Maritimes for a 10 day jazz festival tour (supported by a grant from the Canada Council for the Arts!). We’ll be kicking it off at the Medicine Hat Jazz Festival, and ending up at big exciting festival, which we aren’t allowed to announce until June 4th. In-between we’re excited to play some new places like Fredericton and Moncton in the east and Red Deer in Alberta, as well as re-visit Halifax, Calgary and Edmonton. Also look for us in Toronto at The Rex on June 25 at 6:30, during the Toronto Jazz Festival.

March 2012 Tour
Peripheral Vision is heading on tour March 22-26. We’re excited to be making our first Spectacle: LIVE! stops in these cities.

March 25 - Kingston Jazz Society’s “Live at the Library” series

JPEC Concert and March Tour
It’s going to be a busy winter for Peripheral Vision. Most excitingly we’re opening for John Hébert and Lucian Ban’s “Enesco Re-Imagined” as part of the JPEC Concert Series - February 17th. Check out this amazing band made up of some of our favourite musicians and influences: Joyce Hammann violin, Mat Maneri viola, Ralph Alessi trumpet, Tony Malaby tenor saxophone, Lucian Ban piano and orchestration, John Hebert bass and orchestration, Gerald Cleaver drums, Badal Roy tabla / percussion.
Then in March (23-26) we’re going on tour to Ottawa, Kingston and Montreal. Check out the gigs page for more info.
We’re also starting a new residency at the Tranzac. The first Tuesday or every Month (Feb. 7th, April 3rd, May 1st, June 5th). We’ll be having a different guest opening band each time, to be announced soon.

Announcing Spectacle: Live! CD Release and Tour
We are excited to announce the upcoming release of Spectacle: Live!, recorded at the The Cellar in Vancouver, while on tour last fall. Along with the CD we will be doing a Western Canadian tour this coming September/October with dates in Victoria, Nanaimo, Denman Island, Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Medicine Hat, Swift Current, Winnipeg, and Brandon. May Gigs and Fall Tour
May is a busy month for Peripheral Vision - we’re at the Rex every Sunday night (except the 29th), 7-9, and are also playing at the Tranzac May 10, 7:30-9:30. All of these gigs are Pay What You Can. Hope to see you at one of these shows!
The Purple Cabbage, a new Toronto Jazz and Creative Music Review blog, continues to be very supportive of our music. They recently chose “Says You” for their first “Toronto Mixed Tape” - The Cabbage Tapes: Vol. 1, along with songs by our friends Tara Davidson, Ernesto Cervini and well established Toronto drummer Barry Elmes.

Peripheral Vision Spring Activities
Catch us around Toronto this spring at our new monthly spot at the Tranzac, the second Tuesday of every month, 7:30-9:30, as well as at the Emmet Ray and in May we be doing a weekly show at the Rex Sunday nights, 7-9. See our gigs page for more details
We’re excited to have captured our performance at Vancouver’s The Cellar last November during our CD release tour, and are currently working on mixing and mastering a digital release of that, coming out in May or June 2011.

Brand New Website
Welcome to Peripheral Vision’s brand new website! It’s an exciting time for us as we’re not only launching this great new website (made by Yesim Tosuner from Backyard Design) but more importantly we are releasing our debut self-titled CD with a national CD release tour in October and November.
